May 2026 - Annual Parish Council Meeting

There were five members of the public present and Dist Cllr Jones.

 

Issues with the new footway in the cemetery have been reported to the contractor who is now dealing with it.  The water covers/inspection lids in the footway at Main Road are lower than the footway surface and need to be raised to the footway level.  There are a lot of issues with the new culvert at the picnic area, LCC have already been advised and will look into this matter.  One resident came along to speak about a planning application that is on the agenda.

 

Minutes of the Annual Parish Council Meeting held on 07 May 2026 at 7.30pm in the Youth Centre, Hall Lane

 

1.   Nominations for chairman

 

It was proposed by Cllr Pocklington and seconded by Cllr Sherriff that Cllr Edwards continue as Chairman.  There were no other nominations, Cllr Edwards accepted the position and signed the Declaration as required

 

2.   Nominations for vice-chairman

 

It was proposed by Cllr Pocklington and seconded by Cllr Sherriff that Cllr Jones continue as Vice-Chairman.  There were no other nominations, Cllr Jones accepted the position and signed the Declaration as required

 

3.   Apologies

 

Apologies were received from Cllrs Hopkins and Pritchard

 

Present:  Sherriff, Pocklington, Boseley, Burton, Jones and Edwards (Chairman)

 

4.   Nominations for representatives on outside bodies

 

  1. William Lovell Foundation – two representatives required

Cllrs Sherriff and Hopkins agreed to continue in this position, there is 3½ years left of their term for Parish Council representation.

 

  1. Stickney Consolidated Charities

Cllrs Edwards and Sherriff agreed to continue in this position as their 4 year term as a Trustee began November 2025.

 

5.   To approve two new policies

 

The policies were sent to Councillors prior to the meeting for checking prior to approval.

 

  1. Volunteer Policy

There were no amendments to be made to this policy.  Volunteers have forms to be completed for the Parish Council together with information about use of their data.

 

  1. IT Policy

There were no amendments made to the IT Policy which was approved at this meeting.
