Notes from the public forum held on 02 March 2023

 

There was one member of the public present who had come along to listen to the meeting.

 

Dist Cllr Jones gave his report:

  1. ELDC have set the Council Tax - £161.64 for a Band D property, an increase of 4%.  ELDC will receive £80.00 of this whilst the rest will go to the Drainage Boards.
  2. Support grants are available – details can be found on the ELDC website.
  3. Dist Cllr Jones was asked if he and Cllr Ashton would be available to give a talk at the Annual Parish Meeting with regard to the planning system.  He suggested Cllr Ashton and a Planning Officer would be best suited for this.

Minutes of the meeting held on Thursday 02 March at 7.35pm in the Bungalow at The Old Rectory, Main Road

Apologies:  Apologies were received from County Cllr Bowkett

 

Present:  Cllrs Sherriff, Pritchard, Edwards, Pavely and Bolland (Chairman)

 

Also present:   One member of the public

 

  1. To receive reports from representatives on outside bodies

 

County Cllr Bowkett reported by email that she had nothing to report.

 

Dist Cllr Jones gave his report in the Public Forum

 

  1. To receive declarations of interest in accordance with the Localism Act 2011

 

There were no declarations of interest.

 

  1. Notes of the meeting held on 02 February 2023 to be approved and signed as the minutes

 

It was proposed by Cllr Pritchard and seconded by Cllr Sherriff that the notes be signed as the minutes.

 

  1. Clerk’s report

 

It was resolved that the Clerk should receive and additional £5.00 per month towards the cost of Broadband.

 

  1. To receive a report from the chairman

 

The Chairman had nothing to report, all items are on the agenda.

Dist Cllr Ashton reported:

 

  1. Issues at East Fen Lane with dogs are being dealt with, the owner is working with the authorities to resolve any issues.
  2. A planning application is being put together for a property on East Fen Lane.
  3. Cllr Ashton was asked to speak about planning at the Annual Parish Meeting, he agreed that he would and just needed the date confirming.

  1. To receive play area report

 

  1. The Play Area inspection has been carried out today and the report will be sent next week.
  2. A quote will be sought for two new signs for the entrances to the play area.

 

  1. Planning applications received:

 

The Parish Council supported the following application:

 

S/169/02381/22 - D Kalinowska-Alichnewicz and P Alichnewicz-Kalinowski - Section 73 application to remove condition 4 (external lighting) as imposed on planning permission S/169/02381/22 for construction of a menage for equestrian use at Bar Green Cottage, Main Road.

 

  1. To report any planning decisions from ELDC

 

There were no planning decisions for this meeting

 

  1. To receive reports for LCC highways

 

  1. An email regarding the 30mph speed limit signs, all departments are working together and anticipate they will be in place during the summer months at the latest.
  2. The traffic lights on the A16 were for a burst water main near the sewerage pumping station.  Other utilities made use of the lights until the parts required by Anglian Water were delivered.

 

  1. To consider coronation gifts for children

 

Following discussion it was resolved to purchase a commemorative coin and a bookmark for children,

The next meeting will be held on Thursday 13 April 2023 at 7.00pm in Youth Centre, Hall Lane.  This will be followed by the Annual Parish Meeting at 7.30pm.
